Director of Instruction, Paul Bucy and staff believe that using the correct equipment, proper physical conditioning, and having a structured environment for practice is as important as sound teqnique when taking your game to the next level. They offer JC video state-of-the art video computer swing analysis, golf fitness evaluations, and teach innovative swing drills accelerating the learning process. The Palm Desert Golf Academy is a great resource for every facet of your game.
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Our Professional Staff offers individualized instruction on all levels, customized to meet your needs.
The Palm Desert Golf Academy at Desert Willow uses JC Video swing analysis featuring state-of-the-art teaching and swing comparison capabilities. JC Video is the ultimate in video analysis providing the opportunity to capture a golfer’s swing. Using the internet to send by e-mail, the golfers can view a complete analysis with instructor comments.
Introduction Full Swing Lesson (60 min. / $100 PGA / $80 Apprentice)
Your instructor will evaluate your swing fundamentals, identify your swing faults and prescribe a course of action.
Putting (60 Min. / $100 PGA / $80 Apprentice)
Turning three putts into two or one can do wonders for your handicap. Our instruction covers putting stroke fundamentals and individual stroke analysis; green reading techniques; general putting drills as well as distance and feel drills.
Short Game Lesson (90 Min. / $150 PGA)
Another vital path to better scores, the short game includes instruction advice and techniques for chipping, pitching / lob, and sand play.
On Course “Playing Lesson” with PGA Professional (120 Min. / $250)
On-course application of swing and course management principles takes your session from the theoretical to the practical. This is where it all comes together!
Your certified PGA / TPI instructor will first evaluate your golf swing and ball flight with the aid of the J.C. Video swing analysis system. Next he will the take you into our golf fitness trailer and run you through some revealing flexibility tests, which will explain exactly why you do what you do in your golf swing. He will then put you on a CUSTOM tailored flexibility program based on your individual needs. You will receive a take home flexibility evaluation along with a custom workout program detailing your golf specific exercises and stretches.
GOLF CLINICS
Regularly scheduled clinics provide our guests with professional instruction in a group environment. Our instructors cover a variety of topics such as full swing with a mid iron, chipping and pitching, or putting.
Daily Clinics (60 min. / $30) Tuesday & Friday 11:00-12:00 PM
Golf Clinics will focus on improving a student's golf swing mechanics and course management by providing practice drills and pre-swing images. Daily clinics will not only stress the full swing, but give instruction and practice at various areas of the short game.
*5:1 student to teacher ratio. Clinics begin in late October and run through mid-May. Schedule is subject to change, please call (760) 340-4057 for information.
CUSTOM CLUB FITTING
Using the Zelocity Launch Monitor Paul Bucy, a certified fitter for Titleist, and our Palm Desert Golf Academy Instructors are trained to provide you with customized equipment for maximum performance.
"The Works" (90 - 120 min. / $150)
The goal of "The Works" fitting is to provide you with our most comprehensive fitting and evaluation taking you through the entire set. "The Works" fitting includes our Driver, Long Game, Iron, and Wedge fittings.
Driver Fitting (45 - 60 min. / $90)
The goal of the Driver Fitting is to optimize your ball flight and control, allowing you to hit loner, straighter drives.
Iron Fitting (45 - 60 min. / $90)
The goal of the Iron Fitting is to provide you with the best iron model and specifications to optimize ball flight.
Long Game Fitting (45 - 60 min. / $90)
The goal of the Long Game Gap Fitting is to provide you with the proper combination of clubs to fill the yardage and trajectory gap between your strongest iron and your #3 fairway metal.
Wedge Fitting (45 - 60 min. / $90)
The goal of the Wedge Fitting is to provide you with the best combination of wedges to optimize your short game performance (scoring) and yardage gaps.
*Be sure to bring your own equipment to the fitting.
FAIRWAY KIDS JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM
The Fairway Kids Junior Golf Program has been designed to instill an overall appreciation for the game of golf while developing golf etiquette and a foundation for playing and enjoying the game. We offer Summer Camps and After-School Programs, as well as sessions during Holidays and Spring Break.
GOLF SCHOOLS
Golf schools offer the opportunity to work on many facets of your game with continual reinforcement from our Palm Desert Golf Academy instructors. Over a period of time, this reinforcement is a huge advantage while trying to make necessary changes. All of our golf schools include personal video analysis, TPI fitness evaluation and summary, equipment analysis, lunch at Desert Willow Golf Resort restaurant, and one round of golf on one of our Award-Winning Championship Courses, Firecliff or Mountain View.
CORPORATE GOLF CLINICS
Paul Bucy, Director of Instruction, has implemented golf instruction into hundreds of corporate events and hosted clinics with such greats as Mike Weir, Al Geiberger, Rosie Jones and Lorena Ochoa. Paul and the Palm Desert Golf Academy professionals will customize the best program possible to fit the needs of your group and provide a lasting experience for all participants. Programs can include range instruction, video analysis, club fitting, and putting and chipping contests.
PALM DESERT GOLF ACADEMY MEMBERSHIPS
Perfect your game the finest practice facility in the Desert. The Palm Desert Golf Academy provides an all-grass hitting area to practice full swing, short game area that includes grass and sand bunkers, a chipping green, a pitching green, and a large putting area.
