Position: Host or Hostess
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Restaurant Manager
Classification: Hourly | Non-Exempt | Full-Time or Part-Time
Position Summary:
As a Host or Hostess, you will set the tone for exceptional hospitality, welcoming guests with genuine warmth and ensuring they feel seen, valued, and at ease from the moment they step through our doors.
You are more than a greeter, you are a guide to the culinary experience that awaits, an ambassador of our “Country Club for a Day” promise, and a key contributor to the resort’s story of desert-inspired elegance and heartfelt hospitality.
Role Responsibilities
- Warmly and graciously greet guests as they arrive, offering eye contact and a welcoming demeanor that reflects our elevated standard of service.
- Manage seating with care, honoring guest preferences, pacing the dining room effectively, and balancing station flow to ensure quality service.
- Maintain a clean and professional host stand and entrance area that mirrors the beauty and organization of our environment.
- Provide accurate wait times, accommodate special requests whenever possible, and communicate table status clearly.
- Personally escort guests to their tables, introduce their server, and ensure each table is properly prepared.
- Maintain a polished appearance and professional tone at all times.
- Assist fellow team members, communicate clearly, and participate in team meetings as requested.
- Thank each guest upon departure and invite them to return, ensuring the final note of their experience is as memorable as the first.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills, especially with diverse guest populations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on your feet for extended periods (up to 5 hours at a time).
- Must possess or obtain a valid food handler’s card.
- Professional grooming habits and a polished appearance required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and 25 lbs frequently.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in a desert resort setting, including evenings and weekends.
