Position: Food Runner – The Terrace Restaurant
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Director of Food & Beverage, F&B Manager, Banquet Manager
Classification: Hourly | Non-Exempt | Full-Time or Part-Time
Position Summary:
At Desert Willow Golf Resort, every dish tells a story, and Food Runners are essential to delivering it with warmth, timing, and polish. You’ll support the service team by ensuring food is presented and delivered with care, consistency, and attention to detail. It’s a role that moves quickly and matters deeply, helping shape seamless, elevated dining moments for every guest we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver plated food promptly and gracefully to guests, following proper order flow
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to Desert Willow’s presentation and quality standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to coordinate food timing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line, dining room, and workstations
- Assist servers in maintaining table cleanliness and resetting as needed
- Check in with guests to ensure they have everything they need
- Promptly communicate guest concerns or requests to management
- Participate in side work, cleanup, and closing duties
- Attend team meetings and support team success with a collaborative attitude
- Present a professional appearance and welcoming demeanor at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a smooth guest experience
Qualifications:
- High school diploma preferred
- 1+ year of restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Ability to stay composed under pressure and multitask efficiently
- Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude, polished appearance, and a genuine desire to serve
Working Conditions:
This role involves both indoor and outdoor service, including patio and event spaces. Exposure to kitchen heat, moving equipment, cleaning agents, and occasional outdoor weather conditions is expected. Safety and professionalism must be upheld at all times.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk, lift, carry, and move for extended periods (up to 5 hours)
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly
- Communicate clearly in English and follow written/verbal directions
- Visually inspect food and service areas for quality and cleanliness

Position: Busser – The Terrace Restaurant
Department: Food & Beverage

Classification: Hourly | Non-Exempt | Full-Time or Part-Time
Position Summary:
At Desert Willow Golf Resort, dining is more than a meal, it’s a moment. As a Busser at The Terrace Restaurant, you’ll play an essential supporting role in delivering seamless, story worthy dining experiences in one of Palm Desert’s most scenic and celebrated settings. From the first pour to the final farewell, your attentiveness sets the tone for exceptional guest care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with a warm welcome upon seating and provide bread, butter, and water promptly
- Clear used tableware between courses and reset tables swiftly and thoroughly after guests depart
- Ensure all surfaces, tables, chairs, booths, and floors, are clean and reset for the next guests
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in assigned restrooms every 30 minutes
- Support servers during peak service, especially with large parties and food running
- Communicate guest needs to servers and assist with efficient table flow and guest seating
- Thank guests upon departure and contribute to a gracious, team-oriented service style
- Assist with additional tasks as needed to maintain smooth restaurant operations
What We’re Looking For:
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic, experience is helpful, but not required
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn guest communication in English
- Valid food handler’s card (required)
- Ability to stand, move, lift, and carry for long periods (up to 5 hours per shift)
- A team-first mentality and genuine desire to contribute to a world-class dining experience
Working Conditions:
This role primarily works indoors with some outdoor service on our beautiful patios. Exposure to kitchen activity, cleaning chemicals, hot equipment, and variable weather is expected. Safety and professionalism are top priorities in every task performed.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and kneel throughout shifts
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently
- Communicate verbally and in writing with team members and guests
- Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain visual awareness of the dining room

- Deliver “Best in Class” service by following Desert Willow’s Sequence of Service standards
- Provide gracious, informed service of food and beverages during banquets and private events
- Ensure guest satisfaction through proactive follow-ups and attention to detail
- Set up, execute, and break down banquet floor plans with precision and teamwork
- Maintain a clean and organized dining space and service stations
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members
- Report any guest concerns promptly to management for resolution
- Support overall operations through side work, cleanup, and closing duties
- Attend team meetings and training sessions as requested
- Continuously assist fellow team members to uphold a team-first culture

What We’re Looking For:
